The New Bridge over El Tajo in Ronda

Ronda is famous for its so-called new bridge, Puente Nuevo, which connects the two sides of the 100-metre-deep El Tajo canyon. The bridge is called “Puente Nuevo”, but the bridge is not new at all. It was built between 1751 and 1793, and until 1839 it was the world’s highest bridge at 321,52 feet high. Ronda can easily be visited in a day when you stay at Quartiers Apartments.

The city also has an extensive Roman archaeological site uncovered during construction projects in the city centre.

Another place to see on Costa del Sol if you like nature is the mountains, which are located between Mijas and Estepona. They provide fantastic views over the countryside and make for great walks with plenty of wildlife.
