Head to Benahavis

the hidden gem on Costa del Sol

Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia and Estepona are some of the major cities in Spain that attract thousands of tourists each year.

Most of the tourism industry in Spain focuses on well-known areas such as the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca and Ibiza, and of course, the Canary Islands. But, if you are interested in golf, world-class fine dining and luxury beach life: Head to Benahavis, the hidden gem on Costa del Sol, where our Quartiers resort is located.

Quick Guide to Benahavis

Located along Spain’s Costa del Sol, Benahavis is a charming small town not far from Marbella. Known for its number of golf courses and beautiful little town city center. Benahavis has something for everyone.

Benahavis is ideal for vacationers looking to escape the busy streets of Marbella and crowds at other popular beach destinations on Spain’s southern coast. Absolute highlights in Benahavis are the many small restaurants that both locals and visitors love to visit.

Quick Guide to Marbella

Marbella is the perfect family-friendly Destination: With its sunny climate, variety of cultural and gastronomic options, and plenty of activities for all ages, Marbella is the right vacation destination in Spain. The Plaza de Los Naranjos, the Orange Tree Square, is the center of old town Marbella, a dreamy place for a stroll, a cup of tea or a bite lulled by the gurgling of the fountains. The perfume of orange blossoms is everywhere in late winter and early spring. Later you can head towards the beach promenade to watch the sunset on the horizon.

Quick Guide to Puerto Banus & Nueva Andalucía

Puerto Banus is one of Spain’s top tourist destinations and a leading luxury yacht harbor. It is situated in Marbella, less than 15 minutes away from Benahavis. However, Puerto Banus actually began as a fishing village. A small port was built on land under French rule at the end of the XIX century.

The luxurious Puerto Banús that we know today opened in May 1970. In attendance were, among others, the then Princes of Spain Juan Carlos and Sofia of Greece, the Princes of Monaco Rainier and Grace Kelly, the Aga Khan, film director Roman Polanski, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and Dr Christian Barnard, a pioneer in heart transplantation. The then young and little-known Julio Iglesias was hired to entertain at the opening gala. To build the luxurious port, a quarry was created in the nearby Sierra Blanca mountain where the Starlite Catalana Occidente music festival is organized every summer.

Quick Guide to Estepona

Estepona is located on the Costa del Sol, west of Marbella, and an ideal place to live and visit. Its municipality encompasses the historic city center, its port and marina. The New Golden Mile runs east towards San Pedro Alcántara is an attractive area, together with the vast green spaces in the valleys and hills behind the coast.

Estepona is growing in popularity among Spanish and foreign tourists and property buyers. The coastal town located 30 minutes from Marbella is well known for its fine sandy beaches, restaurants and cozy city center atmosphere.
